Arrested for Land Usurpation in Florencio Varela

Three people were arrested in Florencio Varela for their role in a gang dedicated to usurping land where two deceased teenagers were found. The investigation, driven by the municipality, is ongoing.

In the Buenos Aires district of Florencio Varela, a man and two women were arrested on the charge of being part of a gang dedicated to the illegal usurpation, sale, and subdivision of land in the Bosques area, where unfortunately the bodies of two teenagers, Paloma Gallardo and Josué Salvatierra, were found.

The investigation, which involves five alleged leaders of the organization, began after a discovery on February 4th. Judicial authorities ordered the police to identify those responsible and gather evidence regarding the gang's activities.

According to judicial sources, each of the arrested had the task of recruiting at least a hundred families interested in acquiring plots of the disputed land. To achieve this, they coordinated payments and compiled lists.

During the raids carried out under the order of Guarantee Judge Julián Busteros, notebooks with lists of 217 interested individuals were seized, as well as 11 electronic devices containing relevant evidence, such as audio recordings, photos, plans, and incriminating messages.

The detainees identified as Nayla Selene Oviedo, 21 years old, and Claudia Patricia España, 45 years old, along with Aníbal Gómez, 34 years old, are in custody and will be interrogated in the coming hours. Meanwhile, operations are underway to locate the other two sought organizers.

The Municipality of Florencio Varela has become involved in the case as a victim, presenting itself before the Justice system to promote the case in the hands of the Decentralized Prosecutor's Office of Judicial Department Quilmes number four, led by prosecutor Nuria Gutiérrez. The Municipality also called on the community to organize to prevent the illegal occupation of land in the area until the judicial situation is resolved.
